Harvey Jennings is a retired Army Warrant Officer having served for 23 years in the British Army. Subsequent to his service he has been employed in a housing management role, self-employed businessman and is now retired. He was elected to represent to Chellaston Ward in 2021.

He has been a Trustee of the War Memorial Village since 2007 and is currently the Chair of the Trustees, a position held since 2015.

Age 83 this year and married with three children, John is Derby born and bred. When he left school, he entered into an apprenticeship as wood machinist with British Rail.

He was in National Service between 1957 and 1959 and served as Army Reservist for 18 years with the Royal Engineers. He was a City Councillor for 8 years and has served as a Trustee on the War Memorial Village since 1968.

Sara-Louise spent most of her childhood moving from country to country due to her father being a Regimental Sergeant Major in the Armed Forces.

The Army has been a massive part of her life as serving in the forces has gone back generations in her family.

A Church of England priest and married to Graham with four sons, Norma worships at St Peter's Church in Chellaston where she is the Associate Priest. She is a trustee of the Derby War Memorial Village and feels privileged to be the Chaplain to the folk who live there.

Norma was born in Birmingham but lived most of her life in or near Canterbury. She was licensed as a Church of England Lay Reader and was ordained at Canterbury Cathedral in 2010. She moved to Derby with her family five and a half years ago.

Alan Grimadell was born and bred within Shelton Lock and from an early age was always aware of the importance of the War Memorial Village - Derby. He entered local politics in 2006 and was elected to represent Chaddesden between 2007 and 2011. After a short hiatus, he was re-elected to Derby City Council in May 2015 as a councillor for Chellaston Ward. He presently holds the position as Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture, and Tourism which he held previously in 2010 to 2011.

Alan has been involved in the charity hospital broadDerby Dance). He is delighted to be a Trustee of the War Memorial Village Derby.

On leaving school at 15, Mick joined the Co-op for a short while, then enlisted as a junior soldier on the Sherwood Foresters at 16, in Germany as a Drummer boy. After this he served at various stations in the UK and Malaya, Borneo, Singapore and Northern Ireland, a further 2nd and 3rd tour of Germany finishing with a tour in Berlin.

He finished his career as a S/Sgt (Drum Major) in 1975. After this followed employment in management at the Co-op Midlands to retirement.

Andrew is a retired Chartered Surveyor who has specialised in estate and housing management. He has worked in private practice and over a period of thirty years was employed by two national housing associations in senior positions.

Andrew developed the points-based allocations policy for the War Memorial Village. He has been a trustee for six years.

Ross is a professional recruiter of 14 years. He has a track record of working with a variety of community-based and charitable organisations. Ross was elected as a Derby City Councillor on 3^rd May 2018 and appointed as the Derby City Armed Forces Champion in the same year.

Ross has a long history of involvement with our armed forces, particularly the Mercian Regiment. Ross was appointed as a Trustee in November 2017.

Mel served eight years in the Royal Air Force Regiment, traveling all over the world. He was invalided out in 1991. He joined and worked at British Midland Airways Engineering for 9 years, and was the Vice-Chair of the Shelton and Chelleston customer panel on the DACP, where amongst other things he organised a fundraiser, raising quite a lot of money to try and help to pay for vandal-proof shelters on the parks in those areas.

He left in 2001 after joining the trustees on the War Memorial village. He left BMA Engineering in 2000 and joined Network Rail Engineering in 2001, where he now runs a team of technicians on one of the five ultrasonic test trains, testing the rail all over the country, usually at night.
